GUWAHATI: The Indian national Congrees has released the list of the candidates to be contested in the Assam Assembly by-polls scheduled for October 30.
By-polls will be held for a total of five constituencies–Gossaigaon, Tamulpur, Bhabanipur, Mariani, and Thowra.
Congress selected Bhaskar Dahal to contest from Tamulpur, while, Joel Tudu for Gossaigaon and Monoranjan Konwar to be contested from Thowra constituency in Assam Assembly by-polls.

The proposal for the above selected candidates has been approved by Party president Sonia Gandhi.
Assam has a total number of 126 constituencies in the legislative assembly.
