UPROAR IN ASSAM ASSEMBLY AFTER CONGRESS LEGISLATOR POINTS FINGER at CHANDRA MOHAN PATOWARY

Guwahati, October 1, 2018:

The Assam Assembly today witnessed uproar after Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary turned furious over Congress legislator Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha pointing finger at him while counter questioning on D-voter issues.

The uproar arose when Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Ashok Singhal questioned on the records filed against the deportation of D-voters to Bangladesh and Pakistan from 1951 to 1971. The opposition leaders counter questioned Patowary.

The situation was however settled down by the speaker who appealed that no wrong message should go out of the house regarding the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
