COVID-19: Round the clock curfew to continue in seven districts of Assam

GUWAHATI: Round-the-clock curfew in seven districts of Assam will continue as the districts have shown no improvement in the positivity rate of COVID-19.

On July 6, out the 34 districts of Assam, Biswanath, Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Morigaon, and Sonitpur were declared as containment zone by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) of the Assam government.

In some other districts, curfew is to be relaxed partially in view of the improved COVID situation.

At present, 16 districts of Assam are under curfew from 2 pm to 5 am.

According to sources, no changes have been made regarding the duration and time of curfew in Guwahati which is from 5 pm to 5 am.
