Guwahati, November 7:

Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday said that the demonetization has brought down the Indian economy.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Gogoi said, “Demonitization has helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  but not the common people of the country.”

Talking about the disappearance of Rebati Phukan, Gogoi said that it is a case of secret killings which is back in Assam. Phukan has been working as a mediator between the Centre and the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA). Lafikul Islam murder and the Dhola incident is an example of secret killing.

On the rumours of Paresh Baruah’s death, Gogoi said, “Paresh Baruah should be alive though we do not support the idea of an Independent Assam.

“The intelligence Bureau has failed in confirming the news of Paresh Baruah’s  death,” sai Gogoi.

Gogoi termed the BJP-AGP alliance as a drama.
