President of All BTC Bengali Youth Students' Federation (Udalguri unit) Sujit Sarkar following the FIR against him by ULFA leader Prabal Neog, surrendered himself at the Kokrajhar Police Station.
He is accused of making provocative and communal statements before the media due to which a communal tension took place in the state. ULFA leader Prabal Neog accusing him of being one of the culprits of the Dhola killings filed an FIR against him and demanded the government to immediately take action against him.
After the FIR was filed, Sarkar surrendered himself at the Kokrakjhar Police Station.
It may be mentioned that the police have already arrested ULFA leaders Mrinal Hazarika and Jiten Dutta for making provocative comments but various organisations have demanded that along with these, BJP MLA from Hojai, Shiladitya Dev should also be arrested.
