Driver shot at during robbery attempt on vehicle in Assam's Nagaon 

NAGAON: A driver of a goods-carrying vehicle was shot at during an attempted robbery on National Highway 37 in Nagaon district of Assam today, said police.

Nagaon Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra said that the incident took place in Jharoni area early during the day.

The suspected robbers opened fire at the driver after the driver and his helper refused to pay the money demanded by them.

The injured person is being treated at a hospital in Guwahati and that an investigation is underway.

Mishra said the Haflong-bound vehicle was coming from Guwahati.
