Drug trafficking racket busted in Assam's Chirang; 4 held

GUWAHATI: Chirang Police today carried out two operations and busted a drug racket and arrested four for peddling drugs.

While one operation was carried out at Chandpur village area under Sidli police station, the other was conducted at Dangaigaon village area under Bijni police station.

The four accused arrested by the police are Rashid Khan (19), Abed Ali (17), Manohar Hussain (23) and Sabiruddin Ahmed (22).

Also, the police have recovered 13 plastic containers suspected to be stuffed with heroin, Rs 1,640 in cash, four mobile phone handsets, two motorcycles and one plastic soap case suspected to be filled with heroin.

Currently, the matter is being investigated by personnel of the Sidli police station and Bijni police station for further processes.
