Earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitude hits Assam

GUWAHATI: An earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitude jolted Assam at 7.22  pm this evening, confirmed the National Center for Seismology.

The quake occurred at a depth of 27 kilometers at latitude 26.68 and longitude 92.39. The impact of the tremor was also felt in adjoining areas, including Guwahati city.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 05-05-2021, 19:22:12 IST, Lat: 26.68 & Long: 92.39, Depth: 27 Km ,Location: Sonitpur, Assam," the National Center for Seismology tweeted.

However, no damages to life or property have been reported so far.
