Earthquake measuring 3.8 magnitude jolts Assam's Sonitpur

SONITPUR: An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was jolted Assam's Sonitpur district at 2.40 pm.

The depth of the quake was 5 km.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.8, Occurred on 03-10-2021, 14:40:14 IST, Lat: 26.68 & Long: 92.44, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: 35km W of Tezpur, Assam," tweeted the National Centre of Seismology (NCS).

However, no damage to properties and human life has been reported yet.

Earlier on Wednesday, an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck in Tezpur.
