Guwahati, January 25, 2019:

The All Moran Students' Union has temporarily withdrawn the economic blockade carried out by them since January 20.

The blockade was carried out to mark the protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and for the allotment of Scheduled Tribe status to the Moran community and PRC to the Moran people living in Arunachal Pradesh.

It may be mentioned that a cabinet meeting was held on Thursday headed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in regards to the allotment of ST status to the six indigenous communities of Assam.

However, no announcement has been made so far regarding the matter.
