Guwahati blast: six seriously injured

Guwahati, May 15, 2019:
At least six people injured, where two security personnel were also amongst the injured ones in a grenade blast.
Blast occured near a police checkpoint on Guwahati's upscale Zoo Road on May 15 evening.
Eyewitnesses claimed the grenade was lobbed around 7:45 pm from an SUV that sped past the checkpoint near a shopping mall.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered the DGP to take action against those behind the blast.
It may also be noted that banned ULFA-I has claimed responsibility of the blast.
Moreover, Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia while speaking to media said regarding the preliminary investigation and ensured action against culprits behind the blast.
