Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday presented the Outcome Budget for the year 2018-19 and gave a brief account of the schemes and policies. This is the first time that a brief on outcome budget is been given at the Vidhan Sabha Assembly in the state.
According to the ruling government, this is an initiative to carry a transparent government.
The opposition asked where the state government will find the funds, to which Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “out of the 18 scheme under the state government, 16 are running full-fledged in the state.”
Sarma briefed that as many as 1,47,141 farmers were given a subsidy of Rs 25,000 when they took a loan of Rs 1 lakh.
Under the Project Signature, 120 projects have got administrational approval. Under CIDF, against 42 projects Rs 257 crore has been released as its first instalment. In the name of “Lachi- Chilarai Setu” out of 1,000 wooden bridges, construction of 604 concrete bridges has been already initiated.
Against nine proposed cancer hospital, construction of six hospitals has been also initiated and the tender has been owned by LNT Company.
10 lakh old age people have been given a pension of Rs. 250 under the scheme Kushal Kuwor Sarvajanin Bridha Pension Yojana.
Under tea garden dhan puraskar yojana, 7,21,486 tea workers have received money in their respective bank accounts. Under Dindayal Divyang Scheme 1,15,511 divyangs receives Rs 1,000 every month.
19,645 km of road have been constructed in the village areas of the state.
Under Prandhan Mantra Awas Yojana, 1 lakh 44 thousand houses have been built so far.
As per the presented outcome budget, only 65 per cent expense has been made so far in the year 2018-19. However, detailed information of 9,370 schemes is yet to be made available.
