JE takes epidemic form in Upper Assam

Japanese encephalitis has taken an epidemic form in Upper Assam with 147 deaths being reported from various places in the last few weeks. Over 400 have been affected by the vector-borne disease and are currently undergoing treatment at various health centres.

A number of children has also fallen victim to the disease, sources claimed.
