Lakhimpur BJP Ward member's shop burnt down in alleged poll related violence

Guwahati, December 4, 2018:

As the panchayat polls in Assam approaches, poll related violence are being reported from multiple locations of the state. On Tuesday morning it was reported that unidentified miscreants had allegedly set a shop belonging to a BJP ward member on fire in Lakhimpur.

The shop belong to Madhuri Des, a ward member of the BJP's Lakhimpur Unit. It has been suspected that the shop was burnt by people belong to some other party who wanted to threaten Madhuri, who is a very active member of the BJP.

The police are currently investigating the matter.
