Massive flood in Jorabat area

Guwahati (Assam), 3 August 2018

An hour-long shower flooded a large part of Jorabat on the Assam-Meghalaya interstate border on Friday evening, thereby bringing vehicular traffic to a grinding halt.

According to sources, the affected areas were from 9 Mile to 14 Mile. Scores of vehicles and hundreds of passengers were stranded at Jorabat and Khanapara. Official sources said the vehicles would be allowed to ply when the water recedes.
