GUWAHATI: North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as the 15th chief minister of Assam at 2 pm today at an low key ceremony to be held at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra here.

The BJP MLAs who are likely to take oath as ministers are:

Atul Bora, Parimal Suklabaidya, Pijush Hazarika, Jogen Mohan, Sanjay Kishan, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Bimal Bora, Ashok Singhal, UG Brahma, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Ronuj Pegu, Keshab Mahanta and Ajanta Neog.

A couple of chief ministers from the northeastern states are likely to attend the oath-taking ceremony.

On the other hand, several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are likely to be present in today's ceremony.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held following all COVID protocols.
