Veteran Journalist of Assam and Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan along with Noted Social Activists of Assam such as Manjit Mahanta, Paresh Malakar, Bibek Das, Kamal Kumar Medhi, Mira Borthakur, Udayan Kumar Gogoi, Rahul Chetry, Lakhyajyoti Gogoi, Huneshwar Narah, Advocate Santanu Borthakur, Pappu Dutta and many more prominent figures of Assam today visited Saleki Proposed Reserve Forest near Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary under Margherita Sub Division.

Following the decision by National Board for Wildlife (NBWL), the environmentalists, civil societies, and student communities have vehemently opposed the approval of a coal mining project in the Saleki Proposed Reserve Forest.

Rajya Sabha Ajit Kumar Bhuyan while briefing media persons said that "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a corporate agent and forcefully selling all Natural Resources of our country".
