BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary participated in a Republic Day function held in Kokrajhar and hoisted the tricolor Indian flag. While addressing the media, Mohilary expressed his happiness at the conferring of ‘Bharat Ratna’ award to Xudhakantha Bhupen Hazarika.

“We feel proud that Bharat Ratna title has been conferred on Bhupen Hazarika and I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam’s Sarbananda Sonowal since he has been given this recognition”, Hagrama said. “We are peacefully observing the 70th Independence Day in Kokrajhar and we hope that the Government announced developmental schemes will be completed in the BTC very soon”, he added.
