‘Sankalp Sikha Yatra’ witnesses mass participation of people

Guwahati, November 13, 2018:

The third day of ‘Sankalp Sikha Yatra’, a protest rally by 70 ethnic organisations led by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 witnessed mass participation of people on Tuesday.

The rally started from five different locations of Assam: Sivasagar, Hahsora, Golaghat, Narayanpur and Barpeta.

The members of KMSS, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parisad (AJYCP)  and other ethnic organisations organised a bike-rally.

On day one, the rally started from Sadiya, Dhubri, Diphu and Jonai.

On day two, the rally started from Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Dhemaji and Chirang.

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi said that the protestors would move to Janata Bhawan in Guwahati and seek a clear stand of the government on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
