The Guwahati Police enforced prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting the assembly of 70 organizations in the city for protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on Friday.
Meanwhile the Director General of Police, Kuladhar Saikia said that the police force is all set to oppose any protest tomorrow. The administration will take necessary steps against anyone who breaks the law and order of the state.
It may be mentioned that the mass protest rally “Sankalp Sikha Yatra” that is being initiated state wide under the aegis of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti andd will be reaching the capital on Friday.
