SEVEN MYANMAR NATIONALS TO BE DEPORTED ON OCTOBER 3, FROM SILCHAR

Guwahati, October 2, 2018:

Seven Myanmar nationals scheduled to be deported from Silchar Central Jail on October 3  to Moreh who has been languishing in the detention camp since 2012.

Speaking to InsdeNe, Haren Kalita, Superintendent of Central Jail, Silchar confirmed the deportation of the seven detainees reportedly, Rohingya Muslims, who escaped persecution in Myanmar by the Border Police Force. He also mentioned that there are six more such detainees who have been detained in the detention camp; however no orders for deportation of these six detainees have been passed so far.
