Guwahati, February 14, 2019:

Rohingyas have arrived in Assam’s Morigaon district as well. It has been alleged that seven Rohingyas arrived in Moirabari from Hyderabad. They offered ‘Namaj’ at Hira Jame Masjid Masjid and after staying at the mosque for a night, departed for Hojai the next day.

The authorities did not get a whiff of their presence.

Meanwhile, the Jama-Islamia Darul Uloom Moirabari has appealed to the people to help the Rohingyas. Several people offered financial assistance to the Rohingyas after Darul Uloom's appeal.

Earlier, Rohingyas had been apprehended by authorities at Assam’s Rohingya district. Rohingyas have also been spotted in Cachar district.

It is to be mentioned that Rohingyas are a persecuted class of Muslims from Myanmar, many of whom have crossed the border to Bangladesh and subsequently, to India.
