    Guwahati (Assam), Aug 7, 2018

Assam Forest Department officials recovered 50 pieces of saal tree logs worth Rs 2 lakh that were being carried on a banana raft in Kharkhari river at Jambari, about 10 km from Bamunigaon forest office in Kamrup district.

The smugglers fled from the spot.

It is suspected that the teak trees were cut at Milmila forest near Kharkhari village under Bamunigaon forest office.
