ABVP stages protest in Assam's Dhubri over alleged JPSC-JSSC exam irregularities in Jharkhand

 

The Dhubri district and town units of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest outside the Dhubri District Commissioner’s office on August 13 demanding a high-level CBI probe into alleged irregularities and question paper leaks in JPSC and JSSC examinations in Jharkhand.

The protesters raised slogans against the Jharkhand government and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, alleging that examination irregularities were putting the future of lakhs of students at risk.

The ABVP said candidates spend years preparing for competitive examinations and that alleged malpractice undermines their hard work and erodes confidence in the recruitment system.

Following the demonstration, the organisation submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India through the Dhubri District Commissioner.

Among its key demands, the ABVP sought an impartial CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities and question paper leaks. It also demanded the cancellation and re-conduct of examinations, including the JSSC CGL examination, wherever serious allegations have emerged.

The organisation further called for stringent legal action against officials, employees and others found responsible for any malpractice.

The ABVP also raised concerns over alleged police action against students who participated in protests in Jharkhand, including allegations of lathi-charge and arrests. It demanded that cases against students found to be innocent be withdrawn.

Speaking at the protest, ABVP Golakganj Sub-Division unit convenor Sanjay Roy said examination irregularities could severely affect the future of students who spend several years preparing for competitive examinations.

He demanded that examinations facing serious allegations be conducted afresh and that the entire recruitment process be made transparent and fair.

The organisation said those found responsible for compromising the examination system should face strict punishment, while students affected by the alleged irregularities should be provided justice.

ABVP leaders said they would continue to raise the issue until their demands for transparency, accountability and a credible examination system are addressed.
