Barpeta is set to witness a new wave of industrial growth as Advantage Assam 2.0 secures Rs 202 crore in investment commitments from 75 investors.
The initiative, spearheaded by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to accelerate economic expansion and enhance the state's business ecosystem.
Confirming the development, Barpeta District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha stated that the investments will span multiple sectors, with a notable focus on healthcare and industrial development.
The Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were formalized in the presence of key district officials, including the General Manager of the Industry and Commerce Center.

As part of the initiative, the district administration has approved proposals for industrial parks in Bahari and Sorbhog, ensuring land allocation for interested investors.
Additional land across various locations has also been identified for future industrial projects, with details communicated to the state’s Industry Department to facilitate smooth business setup.
District Commissioner Jha reiterated the state government’s dedication to fostering investment and urged entrepreneurs to engage with the administration for assistance in securing land and necessary approvals.
With Advantage Assam 2.0, the government is positioning the state as a thriving business hub, attracting both domestic and global investors.
The investments pouring into Barpeta are expected to spur employment, strengthen local industries, and contribute to the region’s economic progress, marking a major milestone in Assam’s industrialization journey.
