Members of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) staged a protest in Margherita, demanding a permanent solution to the ongoing problems at the First Referral Unit (FRU) Hospital. Protesters warned that if their demands were not met, they would block roads and intensify their agitation.
More than 50 AJYCP members marched from North Margherita Rangamancha to Segunbari Tiniali and demonstrated near the office of MLA Bhaskar Sharma. They raised slogans and urged the Assam government’s health department to take immediate action.
AJYCP leaders accused the government of neglecting the hospital’s poor infrastructure and lack of essential medical facilities. They demanded urgent reforms to improve healthcare services in the region.
Kanchan Bora, Vice President of AJYCP’s Tinsukia District Committee, said that the government must act immediately. Bimal Singh, President of the Margherita Regional Committee, warned that they would continue their protest until the hospital’s problems were resolved.
Margherita FRU Hospital has been facing staff shortages and inadequate medical equipment, affecting healthcare services for local residents. AJYCP’s protest has put pressure on authorities to act quickly.
