All Assam Students' Society warns of agitation over alleged power department negligence in Juria

The All Assam Students' Society (ASSP) has accused the Power Department of gross negligence in Assam's Nagaon district, alleging that residents of Juria have been facing persistent electricity-related problems due to the department's failure to address long-standing issues.
 

The organisation alleged that consumers in several areas under the Juria Electrical Sub-Division have been affected by frequent power outages, dilapidated electric poles, dangerously hanging power lines and the authorities' alleged indifference towards public complaints.
 

According to the ASSP, repeated written and verbal representations made to departmental officials have failed to yield any concrete action, leaving residents to endure daily hardships.
 

Demanding immediate intervention, the organisation urged the Power Department to upgrade the electricity infrastructure and resolve the problems without further delay.
 

The ASSP warned that if its demands are not met, it will launch a democratic agitation, including gheraoing the Power Department office and staging protests against the alleged negligence.
 

The allegations have sparked public resentment in the area, with residents now awaiting the department's response and the measures it plans to take to improve electricity services in Juria.
