Amit Shah arrives in Silchar on two-day Assam visit

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Silchar on Friday, February 20, for a two-day visit to Assam, during which he will launch a border infrastructure project and address a public rally.
Shah was received at the airport by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, his cabinet colleagues and senior state government officials.
During his visit, the Union Home Minister will launch the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), an initiative of the Union Home Ministry aimed at improving border infrastructure and livelihoods, at Natanpur village. He will also address a public meeting at the venue.
Shah is scheduled to visit the Border Security Force’s Natanpur border outpost along the India–Bangladesh border to review the security situation in the region.
He will also address a BJP rally to launch the party’s election campaign in the Barak Valley. Following this, Shah will travel to Agartala in Tripura and return to Assam later in the evening.
On Saturday, February 21, he will attend the annual day parade of the Central Reserve Police Force at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Guwahati. He will also lay the foundation stone for the new campus of the 10th Assam Police Battalion at Kasutoli in Sonapur near Guwahati.
