A mass youth mobilisation programme will be held in Assam as preparations intensify for the upcoming ‘Yuva Shakti Samaroh’, a massive youth rally scheduled to be held at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, Guwahati.
The rally will be addressed by India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and is expected to draw participation from nearly 1.5 lakh youths from across Assam, marking one of the largest youth gatherings in the state in recent years.
Speaking ahead of the event, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika described the rally as a potentially historic moment in the state’s political landscape. He stated that such a massive mobilisation of young people has rarely been witnessed in Assam.
Hazarika noted that in his nearly three decades of involvement with youth organisations, he has never seen preparations of such magnitude. According to him, the scale of planning and participation reflects the growing enthusiasm and political engagement among the youth of the state.
The event is being organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, under its Assam Pradesh unit. Apart from Shah, the rally will also be attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with several senior party leaders.
Political observers view the large-scale youth outreach programme as a significant show of strength by the ruling party in the state. The gathering is expected to highlight the party’s efforts to mobilise young voters and expand its organisational base among the youth ahead of future political contests in the region.
With thousands of participants expected to arrive from various districts, security and logistical preparations are being intensified around the Khanapara venue to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
