Artificial flood inundates several villages in Assam's Rupahi

Several villages under the Rupahi Revenue Circle in Assam's Nagaon district have been inundated following incessant rainfall over the past few days, disrupting normal life in the area.

Villages including Kachari Gaon, Lalung Gaon and Kaliyadinga have been affected by the artificial flood, with residents facing difficulties due to the accumulation of water.

The inundation has disrupted transportation and affected the daily lives of local residents. Students have also faced difficulties commuting to and from schools, while people have been struggling to carry out their routine activities and access essential services.

A team led by the Rupahi Revenue Circle Officer, along with officials from various departments, visited the affected villages on Tuesday to assess the situation and take stock of the problems faced by the residents.

During the visit, local residents urged the administration to provide adequate flood relief and take necessary measures to address the waterlogging and artificial flooding in the area.
