Assam: 15-year-old girl drowns in Pahumara river in Bajali

A tragic incident unfolded in Bajali on Saturday as 15-year-old Bipasha Das drowned in the Pahumara River while bathing near Katahabari village.

Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries at Pathsala Hospital.

The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, prompting locals to rush Bipasha to the nearest medical facility.

However, doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Magistrate Ila Baniya, along with local police, reached the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning.

Authorities have sent the body to Barpeta Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
