Anganwadi workers under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project in Margherita, on May 24 received mobile phones as per Assam government’s commitment.
Around 200 Anganwadi workers received mobile phones during a formal distribution programme held at the Margherita Block Conference Hall.
The initiative aims to empower workers with digital tools essential for efficient service delivery and data management.
The programme was officially inaugurated by Bhaskar Sharma, MLA of the 83rd Margherita Constituency. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the importance of equipping Anganwadi workers with modern tools to enhance their outreach and effectiveness.
The Anganwadi workers expressed their gratitude, calling the mobile phones a much-needed support in their daily work.
The event was also attended by MLA representative Dishen Tipomia, ICDS Project Officer Minati Rani Das, Block Coordinator Rupa Phukan, and several Anganwadi workers.
