Assam: 37th Morigaon District Day shines bright with tribute to Zubeen Garg and cultural extravaganza

The second day of the 37th Morigaon District Day celebrations was marked by grandeur, emotion, and cultural splendour, uniting people in a spirit of pride and remembrance.
The day commenced with a heartfelt floral tribute to the late musical legend Zubeen Garg, commemorating his unparalleled contribution to Assamese music and culture. The solemn moment set the tone for a day steeped in reverence and celebration.
Distinguished social worker Riniki Bhuyan Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest and formally unveiled a special souvenir book titled “Xobdo Jodi Prerona Hoi…” in the presence of District Commissioner Anamika Tiwari, senior officials of the district administration, and other dignitaries.
As twilight descended, the venue came alive with a vibrant cultural evening, featuring mesmerizing performances by acclaimed singers Sanjib Bora, Arindam Gohain, and Mousumi Saharia, alongside talented local artists. Their soulful renditions of Assamese melodies stirred the hearts of the audience.
Adding a memorable touch to the evening, Nagaon DC Devashish Sharma and senior officials of Morigaon district joined the performers on stage, blending camaraderie with music and making the event a truly unforgettable experience.
