Assam: Alleged sexual attempt on Class 10 girl in Titabor, miscreants on the run

A harrowing incident unfolded in the Titabar area of Assam, where a group of six youths on three motorcycles accosted a young girl in broad daylight. The miscreants, who were traveling in an e-rickshaw with the minor, attempted to strip and sexually assault her.

The incident occurred in the Na-Ali locality of Titabar. According to reports, the girl, a Class 10 student, was traveling alone in the e-rickshaw when the perpetrators boarded the vehicle. They proceeded to harass and intimidate the young girl before attempting to disrobe her.

""I was heading towards school on an e-rickshaw today morning. Suddenly, three boys climbed up the e-rickshaw. Thenafter, the three stripped my uniform, threatened me and tried to beat me and drag me. I don't identify any of the boys", said the victim. 

The girl, however, managed to raise an alarm, causing the assailants to panic and flee the scene. She immediately returned home and informed her family of the horrific ordeal. The family, distraught, promptly approached the Titabar police station to file a complaint against the perpetrators.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are actively pursuing the six individuals involved in the heinous act. The accused have been charged with attempted rape and other related offenses. Authorities are working tirelessly to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
