Assam: Armed youths wreak havoc in Bongaigaon; one arrested

A group of six youngsters armed with terrorized locals in Bongaigaon's Old Colony area. The chaos began when the group, armed with pistols, confronted Ratul Medhi, escalating from a heated argument to a violent physical altercation.

During the confrontation, they fired some blank shots. Their attempt to escape ended in an accident involving their vehicle, which bore the registration number AS26 F 0001.

Police soon arrived at the spot and recovered a pistol with three live rounds from the vehicle of the accident victims. Police also seized two laptops and several other objectionable items. The vehicle registered in the name of Roni Das was also examined. Prosenjit Banerjee, one of the youths involved, has been detained for further questioning. Further investigation is underway.
