The Vivekananda Puja Committee on Mission Road in Dhubri town has drawn visitors during this year's Durga Puja celebrations with a mandap showcasing traditional folk art and locally sourced materials.
The pandal has been designed using bamboo, cane, traditional gamochas and other local handicrafts, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region. The use of indigenous materials forms the central element of the mandap's design.
The committee has also emphasised environmental sustainability by discouraging the use of plastic during the celebrations. Organisers have urged visitors and local residents to opt for eco-friendly alternatives and support the use of traditional materials.
The initiative combines traditional craftsmanship with efforts to promote environmentally conscious celebrations, highlighting the role of local cultural practices in making public festivities more sustainable.
