A large contingent of Lachit Sena members, symbolically armed with traditional Hengdang swords, has set out on a mass march toward Jorhat, marking the beginning of an intense phase of agitation.
The organization claims the movement will persist until the "last threshold of democratic resistance" is exhausted.
Central to their demands is the immediate arrest and detention of Azad Choudhury, whom they accuse of actions they deem contrary to the state’s interest.
In a public appeal, the group has urged citizens from across Assam to converge in Jorhat in large numbers to reinforce the momentum of the movement.
Alongside this, the Lachit Sena has issued a strong call for mass mobilization against individuals they describe as Bangladeshi nationals and suspected illegal immigrants.
