In a grand felicitation ceremony organized on Saturday, May 24 the South Kamrup District unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) honored the newly elected representatives of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) and successful Panchayat poll candidates who contested under the NDA alliance.
The event was graced by key political figures, including Guwahati MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Palashbari MLA Hemanga Thakuria, and other prominent leaders and karyakartas of the BJP. The ceremony celebrated the electoral victories achieved in both council and local self-government polls.
From the recently held RHAC elections, BJP felicitated victorious candidates Kamaleswar Rabha, Ajit Rabha, and Meghali Rabha. The occasion also recognized eight Zila Parishad members, 26 Anchalik Panchayat members, and approximately 40 ward members from Boko-Chhaygaon and Palashbari constituencies, all of whom secured wins under the NDA banner.
During her address, MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi congratulated the winners and urged all newly elected Panchayat representatives to remain steadfast in their commitment to public welfare and adopt a firm stance against corruption. She emphasized the need for proactive groundwork, pointing out that only eight months remain before the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.
