The body of a 62-year-old man, who was swept away by the sudden surge of the Singra River in Boko, Assam on Wednesday, June 18, was recovered today.
The missing individual has been identified as Majendra Kakoti, a resident of Singra village. According to reports, Kakoti was returning home from his agricultural fields when he attempted to cross the river. Unexpected strong currents pulled him in, and was missing since then.
Emergency response teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Boko Police swiftly launched a joint search and rescue operation at the site and recovered the body today.
