In a significant crackdown on illegal drug distribution, Boko police arrested one individual and seized 195 bottles of banned cough syrup during a late-night raid in Rongapara village no. 2 on Wednesday. The operation was led by Boko police station in-charge Rajiv Nath.
Acting on a tip-off from confidential sources regarding the circulation of cough syrup containing hydrochloride and codeine phosphate, the police swiftly executed the raid. Abdul Wahab was apprehended at the scene, and the seized cough syrup is estimated to have a market value of approximately Rs 60,000.
Following the arrest, Abdul Wahab was sent to jail, and police have intensified their investigation to uncover further links in the illegal drug network.
This action underscores the police's commitment to curbing the spread of banned substances in the region.
