The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) witnessed a significant boost ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections with over a hundred BJP workers officially joining the party during a rally held at Simlazhar Hatapara in Mathanguri, Baksa.
The joining ceremony was attended by Begum Akhtara Ahmed, the BPF candidate for the Mathanguri Council constituency. Addressing the gathering, Ahmed said that people from all communities are now uniting under the banner of the BPF to strengthen the party’s leadership in the region.
She urged voters in the Mathanguri constituency to extend their support by casting their votes for the plough symbol, assuring that her victory would further consolidate the party’s vision for inclusive development in BTR.
The rally also saw the participation of several party leaders, who welcomed the new members into the fold and called the mass joining a clear indication of shifting political dynamics in the run-up to the elections.
