The body of a senior Buddhist monk has been discovered in what police are treating as a suspected murder at a monastery in Margherita Co-District, Assam.

The monastery is located approximately 20 kilometres from Margherita headquarters in the Tinsukia district. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the monk's death, though no arrests have been made.
Police have yet to establish a motive for the killing or identify any suspects. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local Buddhist community, where Indrabonsho Bhikkhu was a respected religious figure.
Residents in the area are demanding swift action from law enforcement. Community members have called for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading to the monk's death.
