Kokrajhar is set to host a significant event in Assam’s legislative history as the Assam Legislative Assembly's Budget Session will take place in BTR Capital Kokrajhar for the first time.
Scheduled for February 17, the one-day session will be held at the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) premises.
In preparation for this landmark occasion, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Biswajit Daimary, conducted an inspection of the BTC Legislative Assembly premises along with senior Assembly officials. The visit aimed to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the session.

A review meeting was also organized in the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) conference hall to assess the preparations. BTC Chief Pramod Boro, BTC Legislative Assembly Speaker Katiram Boro, Executive Members, Police Officials and senior officials attended the meeting to finalize the arrangements.
Speaker Biswajit Daimary expressed satisfaction with the preparations and emphasized the importance of the upcoming session. He mentioned that the session would feature discussions on key issues concerning Assam’s Sixth Schedule Council.
This historic move marks a significant milestone for Kokrajhar and the BTR region, further showcasing its growing importance in Assam's legislative framework.
