The wave of burglaries continues unabated in Sribhumi district of Assam. Just two days ago, a gang of thieves targeted the residence of a former district BJP president. Now, once again, the same gang appears to have struck on Azadsagar Road in Sribhumi.
Late last night on May 27, the burglars broke through the grill of Govinda Goswami's residence on Azadsagar Road and unleashed a rampage inside the house. They looted gold ornaments worth over Rs 2 lakh, along with several other valuable items.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents, who are now questioning the effectiveness of the Sribhumi Sadar Police, asking whether the authorities have failed to apprehend the culprits.
