Continuing its commitment to empowering the children of tea garden workers through education, the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Margherita Branch organized the annual “Educational Grant Distribution” ceremony for the academic year 2024–2025.
This initiative, held every year, aims to support meritorious students from tea worker families who successfully cleared the Higher Secondary (HS) and High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations.
The meeting was presided over by Gautam Dhanowar, President of ACMS Margherita Branch, while Harinanda Gorh, Secretary of the branch, conducted the proceedings. The event also witnessed the presence of Vice-President Jiten Gor, Hemanti Mura, and representatives from 38 tea garden unit committees under the branch.
During the ceremony, a total of 163 students belonging to tea worker families received financial assistance under the educational grant scheme. The program reaffirmed the association’s dedication to promoting education among the tea community and ensuring that no deserving student is left behind due to financial constraints.
