In a significant push towards grassroots environmental efforts, the Green Bodoland Mission organized a cheque distribution ceremony at Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar on Wednesday, April 9.
A total of 115 youth clubs from Kokrajhar district received financial assistance of ₹50,000 each, aimed at enhancing their role in promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and community engagement under the Green Bodoland Mission.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Executive Members Sajal Singha and Wilson Hasda, Member of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA) Reoreao Narzihary, Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University Prof. Babulal Ahuja, BTC Secretary Raktim Barua, and Mission Director Manaranjan Das. The leaders jointly handed over the cheques to representatives of the youth clubs.
The Green Bodoland Mission, active across all five districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), currently engages 229 youth clubs. The mission is committed to fostering environmental conservation, promoting green practices, and empowering local communities through active youth participation.
