Assam: CISF jawan robbed at knifepoint at Howrah Railway Station, over Rs 1.5 lakh looted

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the region, a CISF jawan from Bajali district of Assam was allegedly attacked and robbed at knifepoint at Howrah railway station on February 14.
According to reports, the jawan, identified as Arup Kalita of Mahitara village under Bajali district, was travelling from Howrah to Pathsala by Kamrup Express.
The incident reportedly took place at Howrah station when two youths allegedly attacked him with sharp weapons and threatened him with death. The accused then forced the jawan to arrange money immediately and transfer it to his bank account.
Out of fear and desperation, the jawan reportedly contacted his family members and friends late at night and managed to arrange approximately Rs 1.5 lakh in his account. The robbers allegedly looted the entire amount along with cash in his possession, taking away more than Rs 1.5 lakh in total.
During the attack, the jawan was injured and was reportedly sprayed with a substance that left him nearly unconscious.
Subsequently, with the assistance and prompt action of railway police authorities, the CISF jawan managed to board the Kamrup Express and safely reached Pathsala.
Authorities are expected to investigate the matter further.
