Assam: Class 6 student abducted outside school in Margherita, police launch probe

A teenage girl was kidnapped outside her school on Thursday, May 22 morning in Dibong, under Margherita Police Station.

The victim, identified as Aditi Debnath, is a sixth-grade student of Dibong Adarsha ME School and the daughter of Ajay Debnath, a resident of Ketetong in Margherita.

According to statements from school authorities, Aditi was abducted by unidentified individuals traveling in a white vehicle, shortly after she arrived at the school premises. The motive and identity of the perpetrators remain unknown at this stage.

A formal complaint has been lodged by the family at Margherita Police Station, and a search operation has been initiated by law enforcement officials.

This incident has triggered panic and outrage among locals, who are questioning the adequacy of safety measures for children in and around educational institutions.
