Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 1 criticised the Congress over its employment promises in Himachal Pradesh, contrasting them with the BJP government's recruitment record in Assam.
Referring to promises made by Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Sarma said the party had pledged to provide five lakh jobs in the state but had failed to fulfil the commitment.
He contrasted this with the BJP's promise in Assam to provide one lakh government jobs, claiming that the state had provided 1.6 lakh jobs so far.
“The BJP steals hearts, not votes. We will win the hearts of the people of Himachal Pradesh,” Sarma said, expressing confidence in the party's outreach in the state.
