Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently took a pointed jab at Congress MP Rakibul Hussain, suggesting that Hussain's political prominence is solely due to his lineage.
Himanta Biswa Sarma remarked, "If he was not Nurul Hussain's son... he would also have been selling peanuts."
Addressing a presser in Samaguri, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "More than BJP's victory in Samaguri the defect of Rakibul Hussian is bigger. How much margin we have won is not the concern but the point is public came forward to defeat Rakibul Hussian. Rakibul Hussian said that if he had not given jobs to the youths they would be selling peanuts by now. But if I question him (Rakibul Hussian) back, if he was not Nurul Hussian's son... today people of Samaguri made Nurul Hussian minister so we know Rakibul Hussian or he would also have been selling peanuts.

This comment was in response to Hussain's earlier statement implying that without his intervention in providing jobs, many youths would be selling peanuts.
Sarma countered by highlighting that Hussain's own political career benefited from his father's status, suggesting that without such familial ties, Hussain might have faced similar economic challenges.
